Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) again included in CM’s priority list

LUCKNOW: During the review of the ongoing developmental works pertaining to the Panchayati Raj department, Principal Secretary Chanchal Kumar Tiwari expressed his anger over the slow pace of work, and issued instructions to the concerned officials to finish the remaining of the work within the deadline itself. He informed that the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) has been once again included in the priority list of the Chief Minister.
He also mentioned that funds would be made available for various villages to make them Samagra Gram (Holistic Village), Ganga Kinaare Gram (Villages situated on banks of Ganga) and villages which have be made open-defecation free.
Mission director Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Amit Gupta assured that funds would not be an issue in making various villages open-defecation free. He further stated that districts, which rank top 3 in production of sanitary napkins and top 3 village panchayats, who have made their villages open-defecation free.
District panchayati raj officer of Bareilly was given adverse entry for not taking adequate interest in the tasks assigned to him. For slow pace of work in the National Asset Directory, district panchayati raj officers of Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Saharanpur, Kasganj, Amethi, Hathras and Shamli have been given a time of one week to complete the pending work
